Refund Policy
At Island Barter Exchange, we strive to provide our members with quality services and a seamless experience. Our services are based on a prepayment system (the cash balance account) where members prepay into their accounts, from which fees or commissions are drawn. Due to the nature of our business model, we generally do not offer refunds.
Please read the following details carefully.
1. Cash Balance Accounts
Members of Island Barter Exchange are required to prepay into their account, and fees for transactions and other applicable charges are deducted from this prepaid balance. By prepaying into your account, you acknowledge and agree that the funds are non-refundable.
2. Exceptions
While we maintain a no-refund policy, we understand that certain exceptional circumstances may arise. Refunds may be considered at the sole discretion of Island Barter Exchange under the following conditions:
- Technical errors or system malfunctions that result in incorrect charges
- Duplicate charges or billing errors
- Failure to provide services as contracted due to Island Barter Exchange's inability to perform
- Special circumstances as determined by management on a case-by-case basis
3. Request Process
To request a refund consideration, members must submit a written request to Island Barter Exchange within 30 days of the transaction in question. The request should include:
- Member account information
- Transaction details and date
- Reason for refund request
- Any supporting documentation
4. Processing Time
Refund requests will be reviewed within 10 business days of receipt. If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method or applied as account credit, at the discretion of Island Barter Exchange.
5. Non-Refundable Items
The following are generally not eligible for refunds:
- Membership fees already utilized
- Transaction fees for completed trades
- Cash balance account funds (except in cases of billing errors)
- Promotional or discounted membership fees
